The background of this project initiative is a belief that adult education for the commuting workforce will play an important role in the region when it comes to meet the now and forthcoming need of manpower in the region. It will also make the labor market more regional and by that promote the everyday/daily integration between the two countries and its citizens. The differences between the two countries labor markets and educational systems for adults is very big and is a possibility and an obstacle to work further with. The differences between the two countries is also that Denmark has a forthcoming lack of workforce while Sweden suffers from an unemployment problem, these are to problems that the project indirectly will be working with.
The focus of the project will be municipal service, especially nursing and nursery school/youth recreation, this because of incompatible educations and authorization problems.
The project will give increased possibilities on the regional labor market, this by adaption of educations and better supervision/guidance. This demands that the professionals, in this case employees within educational institutions and employers in our area of focus, which are concerned with this workforce needs to be educated about adult education and labor market in the region. By this employers will get a more qualified workforce who has knowledge of system and possibilities.
The project will lead to many collaboration relationships between the municipalities in the region. The municipalities on both sides of the region are both the bigger ones with an established regional cooperation and the smaller ones with less experience of regional collaboration. An education for professionals in the region will be developed, which will give them knowledge to be able to act in matters of regional character such as guidance, education etc. The project will develop and try out new educational modules aimed at the now and forthcoming commuting workforce. This will result in a better orientation towards a regional labor and educational market. The implementation of knowledge, in the project participants own organizations, will give a better way to make management strategies that takes in concern the regional matters of education and labor.
Our intention is that the project will conduct to sustainable development on the regional labor market by working with the solution of a need of workforce and at the same time tries to solve an unemployment problem.
