The Øresund Region has one of the greatest concentrations of ICT-industry in Europe with more than 100.000 employees, 8.000 students and 5.500 researchers. This is the basis for the cluster, which has the possibility of attracting international research facilities, the most qualified people – students, researchers and employees – and internationally established companies.
The purpose of this project is to make sure that the ICT-cluster in the Øresund region will remain and continue to bring financial growth to the region. This will be accomplished through a marketing campaign that will place the ICT-cluster in the Øresund Region on a global map.
The theoretical foundation for the marketing activities has been established through a separat project - BrandIT part 1, which has shown us the strength and position of the cluster in a international context.
The marketing campaign itself will have both a regional and European aspect. It is important to spread the information of the ICT-cluster's size and capabilities both in the Øresund region and outside. In the region companies, universities, politicians etc. also need to be prepared to present the results so that the message is unanimous from all stakeholders in the region. When the marketing campaign is launched throughout Europe it will have a precise aim at the areas that will produce value for the ICT-cluster in the Øresund Region. Examples are companies looking to locate research facilities, conferences where the ICT-industry is represented and a population with a general high education level. Furthermore the project will conduct its own branding events to establish direct contact to relevant individuals.
Finally the project will provide information venues in the Øresund Region so that visitors easily can be inspired and informed when coming to the region. These venues will be placed both in Malmö and Copenhagen to present an interesting environment. The people that come in contact with the project during the marketing campaign will be invited to visit these venues.
Besides from ensuring all of Europe and parts of the rest of the world are familiar with the ICT-cluster in the Øresund Region the project will also tie the region closer together.
