The overall objective of this project is to create a method for measuring the balance of competences, skills, and qualifications on the Øresund labour market (A Compentence Audit). The Competence Audit is therefore to be understood as a measuring method and a dialogue process, which focuses on the need for development by way of implementing new initiatives at regional level, and thereby raising the opportunities of recruitment for Danish and Swedish Enterprises and extend the possibilities of employment for persons, who might get redundant on the labour market without the qualifications in demand.
A Competence Audit is a measuring instrument and dialogue process, which focuses on the needs for development and derived employment possibilities, by carrying out new initiatives at regional level. The task of measuring will be an element in the planning of labour market political initiatives in the region, and will contribute to reveal strategic and concrete areas for new cooperation. The Competence Audit will also contribute to make the labour market and the educational system more visible to the public and the efforts of enhancing the integration on the labour market.
With a Competence Audit the actors on the labour market get a tool to:
·
Develop a “common platform” of understanding and new methods in the Øresund region, which aims at increasing the recognition of the actual needs for the development of labour force competences, and thereby develop a common starting point for a better use of the resources available in the region.
·
Clarify where the bottle necks are (in which sectors and branches they can be found) and where it would be beneficial to launch educational initiatives in order to contribute to relieve bottle necks, and develop the labour market.
·
Pinpoint concrete ideas for the development of employment and supplementary training and education.
·
Establish an interregional dialogue in relation to the needs for the development of labour force competences on the Øresund labour market.
The Competence audit concept will be implemented in the Partnership organisations, in order to support the an ongoing dialogue about the “skills gap” challenges in the Øresund region.
