KlimaSundet is a climate network connecting municipalities in Denmark and Sweden in the Öresund region. Many municipalities on both sides of Öresund are outstanding in developing new projects for climate mitigation and adaptation, but often they are not paying much attention to experiences from other municipalities especially not across the Öresund sea border.

KlimaSundet aims to break down mental and language barriers and create a platform for knowledge and experience sharing between municipalities on climate matters. The project is scheduled to run for the duration of 2 years. Every year, a number of workshops are held for the involved municipalities. These workshops deal with climate issues and take place across the region, offering short presentations, dialogue and new perspectives. Presentations, conclusions and experience are then collected and shared on the KlimaSundet-webpage

The three project partners already have a good network, encompassing most of the climate and environment workers of the regions municipalities, and KlimaSundet expects at least half of the municipalities to join in. By the end of the project period in 2012, KlimaSundet plans to start the preparations of an international conference showing the best climate projects from the involved parties to 1) share experience and 2) mutual inspiration. This international conference will not take place within this project.
