IKON (Interregional Cultural Experience Network) is a collaborative project consisting of municipalities, counties, regions, tourist organisations, museums, chateaux and university environments in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The aim of the project is to strengthen tourism in the region, increase competence and break down border obstacles. This will take place through investment in agencies, joint activities (events) and strengthened marketing. Amongst other things, the activities of the project will increase the number of visitors to the various destinations by 350,000 annually, strengthen all-year tourism, and create knowledge-based cultural experiences.
