NORD-OSTRON is a collaborative project consisting of University and development players in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The project will be an engine for cross-border innovational and trade development within maritime trade in south-east Scandinavia. This will come about through the development of models and tools, specified and implemented in the development of cultivation technologies for Scandinavian oysters. This will include improved technology for oyster fry in land-based hatcheries, microalgae, and systems for the further culture of oysters in the sea.

The project will thereby make a clear contribution both to the development of innovation and clusters within maritime activity, and also a concrete contribution to trade development in coastal areas as a result of implementation. The project will work closely with trade and industry in the region.
