STRAKKS (Strategies for urban development in medium-sized Nordic knowledge towns) is an urban development project between Danish and Norwegian county and district councils and knowledge environments. The project will establish "urban laboratories" to test new models and concrete interventions in urban development. The aim is to establish networks, strengthen competence and develop models so as to combine a triple-helix (trade, knowledge environments and research) with urban development, and thus promote knowledge-based urban development.
