The objective of the project is to carry out a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis for the area of Kattegat-Skagerrak.
The aim of the project is to:
- enable a more strategic approach to regional development work within the Kattegat-Skagerrak area
- to use the knowledge gained to ensure a more strategic approach in the development of new Interreg projects
- raise awareness of the Kattegat-Skagerrak area and promote the strengths and potential of this area
- strengthen capacity building within regions and municipalities and support partnership initiatives within the Kattegat-Skagerrak area.
- prepare for the next Interreg V program (2013+)
The project consists of a process involving external consultants, innovation system representatives and representatives of higher education bodies from the regions within the Kattegat-Skagerrak area. The SWOT analysis will give a current and more complete picture of the area’s economic performance as well as the area’s opportunities to promote the development of education and learning, innovation systems and economic growth. This will be of benefit to both regional councils and municipalities. The analysis will include quantitative and qualitative data, strategies and plans in the regions.
The SWOT analysis will be presented to the steering committee.
